sweet street.
from pastime to professional.

Meet Tasneem, Sweet Street’s Head Baker.

When Tasneem was a toddler, the one way to keep her happy day in and day out was to give her something to play with in her hands. Particularly play-doh. Tasneem LOVED play-doh. So much so that her parents had to keep extra stashes around just to be able to surprise her with play-doh gifts, or on occasion, for an effective parent-toddler bribe. That lasted, well, forever, and as she got old enough, she loved to help roll dough with her baba or shape kofta kabobs with her mama in the kitchen. Anything squishy.

Then 2020 happened. Tasneem was only 7 years old when the pandemic started, and like so many others at that time, gravitated to baking to keep herself happy. At first, her parents were worried to have her functioning in the kitchen at such a young age, so they worked with her to put things in ovens, oversee stand mixers, and teach about fractions and portions. But before they knew it, Tasneem was fully functioning in the kitchen, and sharing weekly sweets with neighbors in Brookline.

Sweet Street was born :).

Then one day, upon personally delivering one sweet order to a neighbor and seeing her delighted reaction, Tasneem turned to her mama and said, “You know, I love baking. It brings me two happys. It makes me happy when I make it, and it makes me happy for others to enjoy it.” Mama, who supports social entrepreneurs in her own work, loved the idea of 2 happys and shared with Tasneem another idea that could help spread her happy even further. What if she sold her baked goods and used the profits to invest in causes she cares about? That would spread the happy beyond herself and her neighbors, to the world.

3 happys was born :).

Welcome to Sneemo’s Sweet Street. Where every order helps create 3 happys:
